Forty past and present Good Neighbours volunteers gathered together at Boxted Village Hall on 22 May. They were celebrating 10 years of service to people in Boxted and Langham, during which they have carried out some 1,000 tasks. The occasion saw the introduction of a striking new logo devised for the Good Neighbours by Shirley Szymanek of Boxted , and, of course, a substantial “birthday” cake was ceremonially cut and then greatly enjoyed.

The Good Neighbours are in need of more volunteers . Some who read this may themselves need help in a few years’ time. Will the Good Neighbours be there for them to call? Unless more volunteers come forward soon, the Good Neighbours may indeed not be there...
